Congratulations and well done for putting your son before your naysaying “friends”. I commend you for understanding and caring about what makes your son happy, CJ is lucky to have you.
Your “friends” and your church are putting their narrow minded judgements ahead of the health and happiness of a child and don’t deserve a second more of your time.
So many kids go through life thinking they are less than they should be, or they’ve let someone down etc, and this is not the way to raise a mentally healthy child! You have to let them be what and who they are. He is what he is, he is unique, he is amazing, and it’s got nothing to do with religion or parenting or education. Once you accept that, the rest is easy ;-)
