I don’t pay more for my car insurance because I’ve never in my life had a speeding ticket. Why? I don’t speed. The most common complaint about my driving is that I don’t go fast enough, or I drive “like a granny.”
I can’t avoid cancer the way I avoid speeding tickets. I can’t avoid Huntington’s disease, which is genetic and I have a family history of, but have not gotten tested for because I don’t want to have a “pre-existing condition,” the same way I avoid speeding tickets. You cannot compare the two. You make a conscious decision to speed. You do not make a conscious decision to get sick, to be raped, or to live with a chronic medical condition.
