If she were to come out in opposition to Trump in a major way, she would risk losing the support of the Republican party and the campaign financing that comes along with that, which she (like any other candidate) needs in order to win the 2018 midterm. Republicans who privately disagree with Trump are indeed in a difficult position; it’s just how midterms go, particularly with a President with a low approval rating, regardless of party.
