Little England Referendum.

Recently; a million march rally enthralled in London, it was in the favor of Kashmir independence. The peaceful protesters were demanding referendum in Kashmir. The burning Kashmir has again engrossed the whole world. There are more than 700,000 Kashmiris residing in the United Kingdom so we can also take it as a voice of Little England. The Little England demanded for the Scotland-type referendum in Kashmir. The majority of Kashmiris is living in Manchester, Bradford, Birmingham, Leeds and Luton. There are around 115,000 Pakistani Kashmiri and more than 20,000 Mirpur Punjabi living in England. And the rest is Indian Kashmiris so whenever any rally comes out in the UK it shows the actual power and strength of Indian occupied Kashmir.

There is an old saying that Kashmir is like a heaven on earth, and maybe that’s why India and Pakistan are facing a pivotal situation since after their freedom. No one can deny the strategic value of Kashmir in the region. It has a value of a sparkling diamond, but this diamond has become a disaster for many in the region. This is also an utter fact that Pakistan becomes an atomic power on the Kashmir issue. Pakistan faced a lot of confinements for so many years by the international community, only because of earning this power. Kashmir is a dream which no Pakistani can ever forget. The situation is more serious since Pakistan and India have become Nuclear powers.

Initially Pakistan wanted to have Kashmir as its own territory but after decades this situation changed, now the majority of Pakistan and Kashmir demands utter Independent land of Kashmir. Let’s have a brief look at the facts of Kashmir freedom.

If we talk about Kashmir, we must clear the geography in our minds that Kashmir is eventually holding by three countries China, India and Pakistan. Indian Kashmir is consisting of Kashmir Valley, Ladakh and Jammu areas. Pakistani Kashmir inheres with Azad Kashmir and Gilgit–Baltistan. And China has Aksai Chin which is the upper part of Kashmir. Pakistan gave this part to China; eventually Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto signed the Sino-Pakistan Boundary Agreement on 2 March 1963 that transferred well-nigh 750 square kilometers of Kashmir territory to China. If we gather all the Kashmir as one, then we will be having around 90 percent of Muslim population which is a sheer majority. And then we will have around 6 percent of Hindus and 4 percent of Buddhist in over all domains of Kashmir which is a confirmed minority. This minority count fears India and that’s the reason for deploying 600,000 Indian Army troops on a permanent basis in Indian occupied Kashmir. Through United Nations report; these Indian military troops have killed more than 500,000 people in the past six decades and it’s obvious that they all were Muslims. Above we didn’t include the large count of Kashmiris whom are living in abroad. This count is a bigger reason for India to rule out Kashmiris point of view brutally. India knows the fact that if any referendum will take place in Kashmir than Kashmir will surely vote in favor of independence. At the other side, Azad Kashmir has its own elected Prime Minister, President, Legislative Assembly, High Court and the official flag. The fear of Indians is not only of loosing this piece of land but also they will lose the rights on water distribution. According to sources, India is getting wild on Line of Control for enforcing Pakistan to not make dams in Azad-Kashmir. India is already lobbying to misguide international monetary institutions on hydro projects including Diamer-Bhasha Dam, Bonji hydro projects in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. Indian has enforced several times to America and World Bank to not support Pakistan in the construction of these water saving resources though Pakistan is keen to make dams to over come power shortage and heavy flooding. In the mean while Kashmiris are getting more powerful to regime the referendum in Kashmir. Many Pakistani and Kashmiri Leaders including Bilawal Bhutto Zirdari are fertilizing the cause at international platform. Bilawal Bhutto is following the footsteps of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to proponent the matter of Kashmir and this is one of the vital reasons which make Indians to hate Bhuttos’. There are also so many Pakistanis whom dislike Bhutto as they don’t want war and lose their own kids for the cause of Kashmir. They believe Kashmiris should raise their voices alone. At the end of the story, there is no doubt that referendum dream is covert but it must take place in Kashmir for a peaceful region, and this will only happen when Indians and Pakistanis will retreat their dynamic fears of loosing power in the South Asian region.
