corporations are like people: sometimes it takes a crisis to force an issue to the top of the priority list.
I’m thrilled that as you gain more information, you change your mind. To even suggest that corporations are like “individuals” is unbelievable wrong headed. Corporations (and here I mean midcap and larger corporations)are NOT people, nor are they “people-like”. By perpetrating this lie that conservatives have been selling, you continues that thinking. NO corporation has gone to jail for murdering anyone — therefore they don’t have the same rules. Corporations do not have free will — that’s why they have NDA’s. Corporations do not know you “intimately”, only through the lens of what you can do for them. Corporations are driven by their mission statement, to gain power and to make money. And money in these times is King — above human rights or decency.
So what does this have to do with massage envy? They underpay every one of their massage therapists. Massage thereapists are professionals. We go to school (500 -1000 hours), pass requirements at state and national levels, pay and take CEUS every one or two years, etc. And for all this Massage Envy pays on average $16.82 per hour (that’s face to face hour — if the client doesn’t show, no pay). No benefits.
This corporation is making it’s money on the backs of therapists while customers wonder why their massage isn’t quite what they expected (or in some cases much worse). The corporation is greedy. The corporation cares not one bit whether that is a living wage for the therapist. The consumers come to think that this is what they “should” be charged. This is what makes corporations NOT HUMAN INDIVIDUALS. Human individuals care for others above their bottom line. And when they don’t we call them psychopaths.
Please refrain from expressing that soehow corporations are “good”almost people. We need to see these corporations for what they are — -not human.
