Contena
Recently, I came across this website called Contena. I do a lot of freelance projects including areas in marketing and technology and I find myself creating a lot of content for small to medium sized businesses for various uses including blogs, website content and email marketing.
Contena claimed to be a great resource for those looking to identify more opportunities for writing projects, so I signed up and was excited to use the service. Low and behold, I sign up, give them my information only to find out that they were no longer accepting new members and that I would need to wait until they had more space.
Being a product of the digital generation, I found this a bit comical as I don’t believe there is such a thing as not enough space for registered members of a website, but being an entrepreneur, I can see where you can want to do things in phase to try and control your growth a bit.
Contena was based on invitation only and probably due to the FOMO mainly, I eagerly awaiting my invitation to join the site. I was eagerly awaiting my invitation until the daily onslaught of emails began from Kevin, a big wig at Contena. Possibly the founder, I don’t recall, but the emails came nearly daily and were very long. I know, long as in this post, as you are reading the fourth line of the fourth paragraph. Oh my.
The emails continued to come and I didn’t read them as they were sooo boringly long, but I kept opening them hoping to find my golden ticket to Contena inside. Long last, Monday of this week rolled around and I finally got my invite.
But, my excitement didn’t last long. Once the curtains were opened, and all that was Contena was revealed, the excitement died away quickly.
