Unemployment rates in the United States are at an all-time high since 1934, according to a recent article in Fortune.

Americans are hurting financially.

While many out of work employees are waiting on stimulus checks from the US Government, as well as unemployment checks, a few humanitarians have come together to help relieve citizens struggling financially through this crisis.

The H.E.L.P campaign was recently put together by successful Youtube couple Ethan & Hila Klein; the two are best known by their channel name H3H3productions. The two have frequently put together charity streams using their podcast in the past, and were once again inspired by the recent crisis to find a way to help.

For this campaign, they emphasize wanting to give directly to people as opposed to going through a charity.

“We’ve done those charity streams a few times, and that was initially our first idea, but it didn’t feel the same. We wanted it to go directly to people, and not to some charity fund.” — Hila Klein

Entering to win is simple: anyone who replies to the daily tweet attached to the @h3h3productions twitter handle will be entered in a random drawing to win $500 sent directly to their paypal.me link.

The campaign started on April 15th and will continue for 100 days.

The two originally started with only $100,000 however since starting this campaign they’ve gained traction and received donations from other notable celebrities.

During their latest podcast episode, they announced that the campaign has more than doubled to $250,000.

$50,000 was donated by Brendan Greene, a video game designer best known for the popular game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).

An additional $100,000 was donated by John Schnatter, a.k.a. Papa John, who made the announcement when he was a guest on their most recent podcast episode. Schnatter also has his own foundation The John H. Schnatter Family Foundation which is selling Give Back with Papa merchandise to raise funds for COVID-19 relief efforts.

Although they mused increasing the number of winners to five people per day at the end of their latest episode, so far the number still remains at three per day.

Ethan Klein warned twitter followers on April 26th to be wary of scammers contacting them through their paypal.

He verified that the campaign does not come with a fee, and to ignore messages posing as him asking for money.

The H.E.L.P. campaign is continuing to give away $1,500 every day, those who are in need only have to retweet and submit their paypal.me link.
