State of the Union

As we are in the last month of the cohort, it is becoming real to me that I will soon be in the next chapter of my career. I joined the Iron Yard in hopes of having a clearer understanding of the fundamentals of how code works in front-end development, and communicating it with and to other developers, which I now feel I am capable of as a designer.

There are many things I want to do in life, and as I have lunged myself forward into these areas of curiosity, I have come to realize that product design is where my core strengths lie. As javascript is a huge language and is constantly changing to include new libraries and packages, I’d like to be in a position where I can continue to practice it, while also continuing to learn new practices in animation of prototypes, and developing my design abilities to new heights.

As I develop my skills in front-end, I would ultimately like to be able to animate unique, interactive features on a site, application and other digital products. In just a little over 2 months, I can say I feel comfortable writing CSS and HTML and I have an understanding and familiarity with Javascript, which will only continue to grow into comfortability as repetition occurs.
