Why not make us pay, instead of employers? Because as curators, you create value. Right now I get several offers a day from agencies and bodyshoppers who have obviously not even read my resume and don’t seem to give a shit about what I would like to do. All they are interested in is spamming us and then maybe among thousands of emails they send automatically, they will get one response. The problem for me is that now I set up filters to throw this right to garbage, and I might miss the really good opportunities. And I would be willing to pay a few 10s of dollars every month for a service that only sends me direct offers, and so remains free for employers on the condition that they are not some agency that will take a cut on everyone of my invoices. You create value for me because I don’t get as much spam and I don’t miss good opportunities, and you create value for employers because they don’t pay the bodyshopper’s cut. As a freelancer, that’s where my pain is.
