Why are gyms so empty?

Something strange is afoot. I’ve been to the gym a few times this week, fully expecting it to be packed. But… it’s been empty. The Pilates class before the one I take on Saturdays is always full. This morning that first class was cancelled. Only one person had signed up for it.

Traditionally, this is the week I dread. January 1st means it’s hard to find a parking space at the gym, and fitness classes are filled to their limits. This past week, even a free yoga class only had three people in it (including myself). Regulars must be staying…

This morning, a friend shared an article about the false alarm residents of Hawaii experienced this past weekend. The article stated that the warning was sent due to human error.
