An Interview with the Young Entrepreneur

I had the chance to interview one of the upcoming marketeers who have incorporated a new and unique idea to market various product. Hailing from the metropolitan city of Karachi, Pakistan, Mr. Khan Akhter Rumman had a spark to be his own boss since a very young age. He started his business adventure when he was in O-levels and ventured into the service of Car dealership with a close friend. Continuing the same spark to his A-levels as well, the business shrunk away when the responsibilities of University life bloomed its petals.

Mr. Rumman, in his last semester, with the help of three friends thought of mixing the islamic fundamentals with the services of marketing that is to market products in an Islamic compliant manner. An idea which seemed impossible considering the nature of marketing taking place in Karachi, Pakistan the young partnership of these four personnel (by the name of AT&R) faced many challenges such as lack of finances and infrastructure. Slowly but gradually they defied the odds and started to emerge as a well established marketing firm with clientele from both corporate and social circles.

The disintegration of AT&R as a partnership of young minds started when one of the partners joined family business. Rumman having difficulties with keeping up with the pace of the firm, then decided to leave and start his own venture by the name of Trajital Marketing. Being the pioneer of idea with regards to islamic compliance marketing, he continued the same dream forward. Now Trajital has its head offices in Karachi looking after the regions of Sindh and Balochistan, and a corporate office in Islamabad to look after the needs of Punjab and KPK.

With an urge to expand and keep growing, Rumman and Trajital have now completed almost two years with clientele that includes many big names of local industry as well as some international companies.

When asked whether he would provide a simple advice to the young minds who want to follow his footsteps, he very simply explained that when ever you want to fuel the fire of being your own boss, you will face a challenge especially from your own house that is, why startup? He smilingly said that if you need to startup, you have to “break the clutter” i.e break the status quo, free yourself from your own comfort zone. That is when you will actually enjoy what you do.

I personally wish Mr. Rumman a very best of luck in his future endeavors and pray that he climb all the stairs to success and become the best Islamic Complaint Marketing firm in the world.
