Zigbee is a standards-based wireless technology developed to enable low-cost, low-power wireless machine-to-machine and internet of things networks. Zigbee is for low-data rate, low-power applications and is an open standard. Zigbee specifies three different devices types are the Zigbee Coordinator (ZC), the Zigbee Router (ZR), and the Zigbee End Device (ZED).Zigbee uses a mesh network which allows individual devices to work as a signal relay. The main use of zigbee is wireless control and monitoring applications. Samsung with its Smart Things product line, Amazon, Philips Hue, IKEA, Panasonic, Osraml Ledvance, Bosch, and Miele these devices are use zigbee. The zigbee advantages are low latency, support for multiple metwork topologies, low duty cycle, and direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS). Zigbee is designed to be a low-power wireless communication protocol. Zigbee is an open-source protocol and available to use for free.

2.4 GHz spectrum type of signal is zigbee. Weakness of zigbee are not free, low data rates, and star network is limited. Zigbee offers greater coverage and the ability to connect to more devices. Zigbee sensors are an essential part of a smart home system. Google Assistant does not support zigbee out of the box. The institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) are invented zigbee technology. The radio design used by zigbee has few analog stages and uses digital circuits wherever possible. The zigbee qualification process involves a full validation of the requirement of the physical layer. Zigbee radios have very tight constraints on power and bandwidth. Zigbee Router devices are sometimes called zigbee repeaters or zigbee range extenders. Zigbee remains a popular choice for smart meter communications.
