Hi. You have found yourself on my blog. If you don’t know me, I should go through the obnoxious exercise of introducing myself to you. So here goes.
As of this moment, I look like this.
And as of this moment, I am a graduate student, persuing his MFA in Graphic Design at Savannah College of Art and Design. My bachelor’s degree however was in Mechanical Engineering. Somewhere, somewhen, I plan to have a post to explain this shift, just for the record.
So now that we’ve covered introducing my (as of this moment) bodily existence, we can move towards the kind of things I think about and don’t think about. For starters, I hate having to use first person pronouns (I, me, myself, etc.). A part of me scowls whenever I use them. It is narcissistic at its best and unempathetic at its worst. Moreover, who am I if not yet another deluded meme machine? (More on that later)
I know, I know, it’s funny coming from a person who chose to start writing a blog; when the whole idea of a blog is selfish in and of itself; someone must think that their thoughts are more important than other thoughts (not their own), so much so that they need to be expressed in perfect grammar and documented in a beautiful typeface; meanwhile algorithms of code making the thought look absolutely gorgeous, much like little birds and mice who helped dress Cinderella up for the big night.
So let’s get this out of the way. Let’s define what this blog is and is not. This blog is NOT Cinderella getting ready for the big night. There is no big night. It is more of a thinking and writing exercise for me. So that I think clearer and write more often. I hope that it would help me with my thesis; and if nothing else it is a curation of ideas which are out there and open to be debated and contradicted and enhanced and freely interpreted.
This blog is for me but not about me. Willkommen!
