My Best Photos-PHOTOJOURNALISM

Decatur, Ala. — An image of a young woman in a flour ad from 1920 Decatur Daily newspaper. One of the main things I like about this is that the only thing in focus is the focus of the picture, which is the flour girl. Still, you can see little details and words like “Tennessee Valley” which reveal the location of where this photo was taken. I chose this photos because it’s unlike most photos we see of newspapers, it’s not focused on the news story but a drawing they used as an ad. I like the fact that it’s focused into what most people typically overlook.
Tupelo, Miss. — Lights strung down in alley way over seating for the Crave Cafe. I chose this picture because it’s one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken because of the aesthetic. I love the lights and more than anything, I love the detail of the small green light that doesn’t match the rest of the lights, it’s a complete misfit and that’s okay.
Collierville, Tenn. — Portrait of Lacey Mendius on the Collierville Town Square while taking photos for the new year. I chose this photo because I think it’s a stunning photo of one of my friends Lacey. I think the timing was just perfect on this photo and it was truly that wasn’t my talent, but just divine circumstances seeing as it was an overcast day and the wind just so happened to blow in our favor.
