Time to skip BS5
As in the previous article you read about how the scenario are changing and how important “AATM NIRBHAR BHARAT” is, in today’s column I am going to explain if we are moving ahead we need to skip few steps and directly jump ahead. In 2017 Supreme Court saw the need of urgency in bringing BS6 directly from BS4 by skipping BS5 whole, India requires to skip more than one stride in order to become a global super power.

Transportation plays a major role in defining the nation speed whether making contribution in boosting economy or providing mobility to army by reducing the travel time. In terms of advancement we only have counting number of metros and pilot projects of bullet and semi-high speed train. World fastest train Shanghai Maglev 267mph and Fuxing Hao 247mph both bid by China while Japan’s Shinkansen 224mph being third on the table. Grabbing the old technologies of other nation because those are advanced and faster in today’s era is just keeping us behind in technology and if we kept on chasing then India will never get a lead. We have to prudently adapt the advanced next generation concepts like Hyperloop while omitting the ideas of introducing bullet trains.

Coming to defence, Indian Air Force(IAF) currently holds superiority over People’s Liberation Army Air Force(PLAAF) and Pakistan Air Force(PAF) due to many geographical strategical advantage and satisfactory warheads including Mig’s, Sukhoi’s and recent Daffault Rafale’s

But China’s PLAAF had already deployed S-400 anti-missile system, developed their own stealth technology after USA and Russia and spending $179 billion on modernisation of warfare in compare to India’s overall defence budget of $69 billion, in upcoming years IAF will lose dominance in air. India should need to come up with engineering solutions of beating stealth technology and instead of buying 4th generation jets we have to work on sixth and seventh generation fighter jets, with the collaboration of DRDO and HAL.

For making these reforms practical we need to drastically boost our finances. According to 2011 census an estimated of 61.5% of Indian population is dependent on agriculture but it only contributes 18% in India’s gross domestic product(GDP) , if we shift agriculture society towards manufacturing sector increasing productivity on the both ends then we could get the desired outcomes, the major cause for shackling industry growth is inferior and complex process to outset an industry and lack of awareness in youngsters, government should ease the doing of business in India and introduce seminar’s from an early stage as a part of academic curriculum. Initiative like “Skill India” and ”Make in India” should roll out’s on a larger scale.

We have to take leap and put the paddle on acceleration as India does not have time to upgrade the system and replace the old technology step by step, India have to bring major reforms like LPG for MSME sector and should encourage young’s minds to solve the small problems of Indian Society like solid waste management, green clean energy, basic sanitation, improving health and education infrastructure; it will not only provide the solutions but also infuse the confidence to take the charge in coming future, before nation we have to be hot to trot, to absorb the change and pace of it.
