The Search for Purpose in Tokyo: Introducing Jumping the Long Rope

This summer gave me many hours of writing — some on the ground, some thousands of feet in the air.

Since I began writing regularly in 2022, the process has connected me with thoughtful writers, professors, editors, and even old friends from school and my early work days. My biggest takeaway so far is that writing is as much about learning from people and experiences as it is about putting words on a page.

Out of that journey comes my new book, 𝙅𝙪𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙤𝙥𝙚.

It is a story set in Tokyo that explores what it means to search for purpose when conventional success feels unfulfilling. Rather than framing ikigai as a defined formula, it attempts to explore it as a lived experience — uncertain, occasionally frustrating, and deeply personal.
