It is certainly interesting to know that we come from the stars, but even more interesting is the realization that we’re part of the cosmos. Although we might only be a speck in the immensity of the universe, we are the Great Father’s children, and our destiny is linked to that of creation. every being has a role to play, a destiny to fulfill, and so every bit of existence is transcendent. -Don Isidro, Mayan Sage

The Mayan civilization possessed a profound understanding of the nature of time/space that went far beyond mere human measurement. For the Mayans, time was a multidimensional web that interconnected all aspects of life, and space was a fluid and ever-changing entity that could be accessed through various means, including meditation, ritual, and divination.

In the modern world, we face a number of complex challenges, from the Escape Fantasies of the Tech Elite to Environmental Collapse, the Demonology Of Algorithms that Flattens Creative Consciousness. Perhaps, the Mayan approach to time/space can provide a powerful antidote to these issues.

Maybe by re-embracing the Mayan understanding of time/space, we can break free from the limitations of our current technological and ecological paradigms. By tapping into the cosmic energies that the Mayans understood so deeply, we can reconnect with nature and the organic mind, and restore balance to our ecology of mind.

The Mayan system of daykeeping offers us a way to align our actions with the cycles of the cosmos, and to tap into the cosmic energy of creation. This can help us to find creative solutions to the problems that confront us, and to restore our connection with the natural world.

The Mayan approach to time-space provides a powerful antidote to the technological, ecological, and consciousness crises that confront us. By re-embracing the wisdom of the ancient Mayans, we can move beyond our current limitations, and fulfill our potential as part of the cosmic dance.

The Cholq’ij, K’iche sacred calendar is a powerful tool for revealing natural cycles that relate to the human consciousness. The Maya Mind surfers on the organic harmonics of the cosmic cycles of the earthly and interplanetary vibrations. The Cholq’ij governs human aspects: it scope and scale consists of 260 days or nine months of the Gregoria calendar, the time it takes for human gestation as well as the biorhythmic period after birth. It’s precision is the result of centuries of observation and study by Aj Q’ij, Daykeeper.

At the heart of the Mayan understanding of time/space is a recognition of the interconnectedness of all things. They saw the universe as a vast web of interconnected energies, each with its own unique key to play in the larger cosmic dance. This perspective allowed them to develop a dynamic system of daykeeping that aligned their attention with the cycles of the cosmos and helped them maintain a deeper connection with consciousness.

Our Grandfathers left an extraordinary legacy to humanity, “thread of the days”, one that synthesizes all of the wisdom of the ancient world. It is the most useful and transcendent instrument for both individuals and communities because it gives us the compass we need for full, harmonious self-realization.

For the Maya, space-time is the synthesis of reality, the place where we exist. Najt, where space-time converges as one unit, is this dimension. This unit is never separated, and when velocity is added, the result is the dimensional image of the form, or what we call reality.

Understanding this mystery and living it, changes your priorities and values. It breaks down barriers and expands your perception as well as your approach to your own personal reality and allows you to feel the tides of consciousness.

The thread of the days is the legacy of the Mayan civilization, an extraordinary system that synthesizes the wisdom of the heartbeat of the universe. This system is a fundamental tool that can guide individuals and communities toward full, harmonious self-realization. It is a way to access and understand the multidimensional web of time/space, to align ourselves with the cycles of the cosmos, and to restore a deeper connection with the organic nature of consciousness.

The Mayans believed that time was not simply a linear sequence of events, but a living, breathing force that permeated all aspects of existence. The “thread of the days” is a powerful instrument that synthesizes all of the knowledge and wisdom of the ancient world into a model. This framework provides individuals and communities with the compass they need for full, harmonious self-realization. By aligning ourselves with the cycles of the cosmos, we can tap into the deep tonal wisdom and guidance that has been passed down through the nawales.

In contrast to the Escape Fantasies of the Tech Elite, the Mayans recognized that true fulfillment and happiness could not be found through the pursuit of technology and material wealth. Instead, they saw the natural world as a source of deep wisdom and creative inspiration, and recognized the need to learn the rhythms of the universe in order to achieve balance and fulfillment.

The Mayan approach to time-space also offers a powerful antidote to the Environmental Collapse that plagues our modern world. By recognizing the interconnectedness of all things and the vital role that each entity plays in the larger cosmic symphony, we can develop a deeper sense of harmonics and the natural unfolding of the world.

The Mayan understanding of time-space provides a powerful defense against the Demonology Of Algorithms that pervades our modern world. By recognizing the limitations of linear, mechanistic thinking and embracing the multidimensional, holistic approach to time-space, we can break free from the narrow confines of algorithmic thinking and tap into the cosmic consciousness that is our birthright.

The Cholq’ij is a calendar with 260 days or vibrations of human consciousness: the 20 days or nawal in the Mayan month, or winal, multiplied by the 13 (Tone) days of the week(20x13=260). The winal arises from the convergence of the 10 cosmic energy currents and the 10 telluric energy currents. It is also related to the 10 fingers on our hands, which are connected to the cosmos, together with our 10 toes, which are connected to Mother Earth. The 13 days of the week arise from the 13 main joints in the human body: two at the ankles, two at the knees, two at the hips, two at the shoulders, two at the elbows, two at the wrist, and one at the neck.

Each of the 20 nawales, or signs, in the Cholq’ij is preceded by a number between 1 and 13, creating a calendar of 260 days. Once the calendar cycle ends, it repeats again with out interruption. This system of measuring time does not consider the positions of the sun, moon, or stars because it is a tidal consciousness calendar, not really an astronomical calendar.

By understanding the Nawal and Tone (consciousness tides) of each day, we are able to harmonize our lives and creative activities with the natural rhythm and celestial order, advancing our personal and collective development. This wisdom requires more than an intellectual understanding; it also requires an sense of Disembodied Poetics, and also being able to let go and let the flower sing.

The k’atunic wheel (20-year cycle) of 360 days each has its own year bearers(or nawal energies, the reigning energies and signs), this is not our primary concern(perhaps in future cycles we will stack on top of our Cholq’ij count)

Maya Day Keepers, primary mission is to keep a record of time and count the cycles because they contain the history of consciousness. Every cycle or fold is the infinite spiral of the great Kan(macrospiral) is an eternal return that results in similar events in the following cycle. This is what makes it possible for us to feel the heartbeat of the universe and see the path the nawales have craved out. Just as we know the path that the Sun and Grandmother Moon trace as they come and do day after day, so do we as humans ebb and flow. This is the way in which we know how to cast the count for threading the signs of the tides of consciousness.

The nawal energies symbolized in the signs of the Cholq’ij are related to the cosmic-telluric. From the moment we exist in their presence their strength and power govern us. Our way of Life, both social and spiritual, is influenced or ordained by this energy form in this manifesting of what we call reality.

Our Grandfathers’ vision of this interconnection between najti and the nawal vibrations & forms has been used forever in the ancient territory of El Mayab(Mesoamerica).

While the Mayan signs are based on cosmic influences, they are quite different from Assyro-Babylonian astrology. The Mayan signs are based on the cosmic-earthly rhythm. there is a direct projection of cosmic currents-the confluence of energies from the four corners of the universe.

These are what underpin the Mayan Cross in each sign as the four main elements (Fire, Earth, Air and Water) and thereby provide us with information on aspects that govern both our conception and the moment of our birth. Both these moments are particularly transcendent for human beings. Further, we are influenced by hemispheric energies, terrestrial currents, our birthplace, and the traditions of our culture.

Mandala Narrative is both an poetic/artistic practice and as mediative ritual emphasizing disembodied poetics and cosmic cycle integration. This kind of interaction involves a merging of ideas, a blurring of control/ownership. It should be noted that mixing in this ancient tradition is not to be treated as a curiosity, not to be indulged in as a form of entertainment and not to be use selfishly. For us to gain access to the vibrations of Maya Mind we should honor and be humble by the depths of such ecology of mind.

The Legend of Ah Xoc Kin,
one of the threads, lost outside of time
through the use of music, unlock ecology
of maya mind, to reference reality beyond beliefs.

cryptic mandalic maya sigils
threads of clay, count of tones

Dance, walk, and sing
edit, creative debts to paid
lil flowers bloom
orbs and gray panels.

7 peak. Reality is blood, sweat and tears
grinding consciousness on the wheel of time

we all live on the knife’s edge,
only the underground knows
how to light this fuse

We come to this life to purify and burn a lot of knots from our past. Sit and ponder all the mysteries of life and play with the Harmonics of Ah Xoc Kin. Sometimes we get so attached to things that the process of letting go becomes complicated, but instead of holding on, why don’t we try to understand the message in everything that entraps us?
