Santa Clara University Professor launches ‘F***ing Hindu’ jibe, floats idea of assassinating Indian Prime Minister
In one of the worst cases of racism and Hinduphobia in recent times, Rohit Chopra, Associate Professor at the Department of Communication of Santa Clara University in California, USA, went on a vehement tirade of spewing hate against the Hindu community on Twitter.
While he made his dislike for India’s ruling BJP party very obvious, he also personally attacked individuals — on religious lines. Targeting Kiran Bedi, a retired police officer & social activist, over the veracity of a video she shared, he wrote: Another F***ing Hindu Nutcase.
If the personal attacks and hateful tweets weren’t crossing the line, the SCU professor has nefariously floated the idea of assassinating Indian Prime Minster Narendra Modi at the hands of Indian Home Minister Amit Shah. He does so by running a poll, asking voters to choose the most appropriate way to conduct the killing.
On January 4, 2020, ORF removed all essays penned by Chopra on its website. ORF President Samir Saran clarified that Chopra’s views do not reflect those of the organization.
Meanwhile, Santa Clara University — which claims to uphold the values of ‘social justice’ and ‘ethics’, has been silent on the matter.
