On 7th October 2023, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing hundred of innocent civilians and wounded thousand of them.

Israel's forces claim that a total of 2,200 rockets were fired, while the Hamas group claims 5,000 rockets were fired. However, it was a massive and efficiently planned attack, even though Israel's world-famous intelligence agency, Mossad, was not able to detect it.

What is Hamas and Why it attack?

Hamas is Palestinian militant group best known for it’s armed resistance against Israel. Most of those who have cordial relations with Israel term it a Terrorist organization due to their brutal attacks. On the other hand, countries like Iran support Hamas and designate it as freedom fighter movement.

Hamas has said that their attack was in response to the recent outbreak of violence at the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, but more generally, it was due to treatment with Palestinians and the expansionism.

Reaction of United States President

On 20th October , American president Biden had personally met the victims of Hamas attack and condemn it by saying that “Hamas and Putin represent different threats, However they share this in common: They both want to completely annihilate a neighboring democracy — completely annihilate it.”

He also explained that ensuring the success of Israel and Ukraine is important for U.S national security. History have taught us that when terrorists and dictators go unpunished, it lead to increase in chaos, death and destruction, posing greater threats to America and the world.

US president announced that American leadership, which is considered the binding force globally, is maintained by American alliances, ensuring the safety of the allies, and America. American values, making the nation an appealing partner for other countries, contribute to this stability. To put all of this under threat by abandoning Ukraine or turning away from Israel is deemed unworthy. For that reason, an urgent budget request will be sent to Congress tomorrow by President Joe Biden, aiming to fund America’s national security needs and provide support to critical partners, including Israel and Ukraine. This is viewed as a wise investment expected to yield dividends for American security across generations, aiding in keeping American troops out of harm’s way and promoting a safer, more peaceful, and flourishing world for future generations.

His speech after the Hamas attack not only condemn but also ensure Israel and Ukraine full support to promote Democracy and American values in the world.
