Fascinating to see the rising friction between forces for centralization versus decentralization. I know which one I’m betting on! : ) I lay out some of the arguments here:

A short anecdote. A friend had to move a fair amount of money out of an east Asian country with fairly strict currency controls. He went to his bank who spent a half hour giving him forms and fee schedules. He finally left in frustration. So he went to localbitcoins, bought the required amount then half an hour later sold the Bitcoin in the destination country. Cost about a dollar.
