I Draw the Line at Oysters

I have
never been a fan
Of
Oh
you want one
This
One
You can
have
it
Because
These slimy lil rubberies
Roll
with no direction
But down
And juggernaut my stomach’s pit
No matter how
much
Horseradish
Soy sauce
Red vinegar
I douse them in
But because
I was
a fan
Of you
I peered
Into your oyster world
Like the ocean’s shark
Who
gets such a bad rap
She’s
curious
more than intense
Just
doesn’t know the weight
of her own intent
Yet
I snorkeled a zigzag to your heart
Contained
in a steel cage
Cold
With walls
Brimming
Because
I knew if I was going to
I had to pry it
from your claws
Even though I knew
those
who love freely
give themselves
away
Even though I knew
what I was doing
was ‘passing’
Another test
And
failing my own
Rorschach
With his ink blots
Could’ve smeared this
Any
Which
Way
But there could only be one right answer
