Oh, Valentine’s Day.

The question always seems to be whether or not you’re in a relationship at this time of year for you to justify your sheer (dis)content for the holiday, which, has been monumentally brutalized and perverted since its inception.

Commercialization. To objectify, and exploit something’s purpose for money is to render it nothing more than a commodity. It only exists and is worth something so long as someone else wants it.

So long as someone sees a need for it.

What about intrinsic value?

Although I am romantically involved this Valentine’s Day around, my feeling toward the holiday is no different from former Valentines’ spent single, romantically involved with myself. I stand on my own and exist for me: the highest love. Just a solid bonus to be able to share it with someone who is his own {beautiful} person and, not only recognizes, but appreciates me as my own.
