Welcome back to the IPL Tournament review by Savanth Sekhar, we are now reviewing the 68th Match of the tournament between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings.

Fairy Tales and Miracles are only seen in the movies, but RCB sprinting with 5 wins can make one for the team. RCB from almost being eliminated from the tournament rose to the top 5 position. CSK who should have comfortably gone past the playoffs are facing a blocker in the form of the RCB. The fans seemed keen over what magic and miracles are to be pulled off in the final fixture of the RCB at their home ground.

CSK won the toss and decided to field first. With rain disturbing the momentum, Virat and Faf didn't stop stroking until luck turned against them in sustaining a bit on the field. They contributed almost 90+ runs, followed by Patidhar and Green who continued to smash the bowlers all across the park. DK’s quick fiery cameo of 14 runs from 5 balls helped the team post a total of 218 runs. CSK have a target of 219 runs, for them to qualify they just have to win while RCB just have to make sure they restrict CSK to under 190 runs.

CSK’s captain Ruturaj had a nightmare with being dismissed for a golden duck in the Mad Maxwell bowling. After having a steady start, Daryl Mitchell was too dismissed for 4 runs in Yash Dayal’s Bowling. Ajinkya and Rachin’s sheer batting excellence almost contributed 90+ runs in the epic run chase. While Mitchel Santner and Shivam Dube fell flat to the bowling of the RCB, Jadeja and Dhoni almost pulled off the rabbit and won the game for the CSK to attain qualification. RCB pulled back the game brilliantly and qualified.

RCB etched one of the craziest comebacks in the history of the IPL and qualified for the Playoffs with 7 wins from 14 matches. A team that was underperforming in the first half of the tournament picked up their pants played for self-respect and won the match in sheer consistency.
