How is saying the Paris Agreement is too weak as it stands evidence that Sanders opposes the Agreement? Has Hillary owned and disavowed how her State Department encouraged and still encourages domestic fracking and eastern European fracking to weaken the Russian economy and to contain its efforts to expand its areas of influence (particularly in the Ukraine) by decreasing EU and Ukrainian energy dependence on Russia. Domestic US fracking and exporting of LNG is supposed to “signal” the EU and Ukraine that LNG is on its way to lessen their dependence on Russian oil. EU fracking is to do the same. Freed from energy dependence on Russian oil, the EU can impose stronger sanctions on Russia to stay out of the Ukraine and such. As an added plus, Russia’s oil economy will suffer from decreased EU and Ukraine demand so that it will have less money to fund its expansion into the Ukraine etc. Not to forget that some of Hillary’s emails have revealed she played a role in pushing Mexico to change its constitution to all Exxon et all to do business in Mexico. All of this is highly relevant where my wife and I live on the south most tip of Texas. Visit saveRGVfromLNG on Facebook. Three LNG export companies have targeted our local Port of Brownsville (next door to South Padre Island), undeterred by the resolutions passed by four city councils to oppose LNG (Laguna Vista, Port Isabel, South Padre Island, and Long Island Village). TransCanada has won the bid to build a 42" fracked gas pipeline from the Eagle Ford shale play far to our north down to Brownsville, TX, on the Texas-Mexico border, and hopes to win the bid for the pipeline that will then take the fracked gas under our Gulf waters down to Veracruz. These pipelines plus LNG exports from our Port, plus our State Department’s continued support for domestic US fracking, will make the fracking of northern Mexico’s Burgos Basin more financially and logistically feasible and attractive to the oil and gas industries and investors (the Burgos, near Reynosa, just across the Rio Grande River from McAllen, TX, promising five to eight times the production of Eagle Ford). Fracking the Burgos will endanger our water and water supply in this parched part of the world and the likely seismic activity will threaten the banks of the Rio Grand and any bridges, rail lines, and pipelines that cross it in the threatened area. One good that might come from this: the seismic shaking apart of the Border Wall most of us here never wanted anyway.
The Sanders campaign asked where our climate plan was. I Googled it for them.
