Scientists and engineers, we need you to build a sustainable animal-free food future!
Apply now for our 2019 Entrepreneurial Scientist & Engineer Fellowship Program
Now is the right time to build the next sustainable food companies and we believe that science and deep technology have a key role to play for this to happen.
Most of the latest innovations in foodtech are coming out of California. There is amazing scientific and technical talent outside of the US but the leap into entrepreneurship for these talents can be a daunting one. This is why we just launched the 2019 POV Entrepreneurial Scientist & Engineer Fellowship Program in partnership with The Good Food Institue, New Harvest, ProVeg International, and ProVeg Incubator to help accelerate the animal-free foodtech movement outside of the US.
The program will start in October 2019 and will provide up to five fellows from Europe, UK, Israel and Singapore with EUR 120K grant funding and coaching for 12 months to support the initial research necessary for starting a truly impactful company in the space. Fellows will explore startup ideas leveraging science and deep tech to create or support the creation of products that mimic animal-based food products. My last blogpost maps some of the existing startups in the space and provides a better idea of the different scientific/tech approaches that have been explored so far.
Do you have a Ph.D. in science, engineering or related field or a Master degree with a minimum of 2 years of commercial work experience? Are you interested in making the food system more sustainable and ethical while exploring entrepreneurship? We will only select up to 5 fellows per year so don’t wait to apply.
Do you have potential applicants in your network? Please spread the word!
