Actionable Excerpts from My Quarantine Diary

I was quarantined back in December 2019. At the time, it was a surreal and unexpected disruption that closed out what seemed to be a pretty crap year for everyone. Little did we know what horror was just around the corner.

In an effort to help some stay sane during self isolation, here’s what I learned after 2+ weeks alone during one of the most social times of the year. Note: this isn’t an article about working from home, or remote, that’s covered in this video. This is specifically meant for managing your sanity during a wild time in history. Or as I wrote in my quarantine diary Day Seven,

“Do not mistake this diatribe for complaining, I am lucky beyond my wildest dreams, this is just a chronicle of the deterioration of my sanity as my connection to humanity becomes more distant.”

This is the first of many pieces of mail I received from the CDC during quarantine

“I was feeling good closing out 2019. I just slayed some dragons by reporting sexual assault in the workplace, the team and I had been putting the final touches on a new Savvy website, and was overall feeling in great physical health. Can’t ask for much more as a woman in tech (aside from respect for my body… bring on 2020!) Until this moment, I thought quarantine was largely a term used to refer to animals and foods
