Heinrich Schliemann was an archaeologist, but he is sometimes called the “father of archaeology”

Heinrich Schliemann was a German businessman and explorer who discovered the ancient city of Troy during an archaeological dig in the late 1800s.

Schliemann was one of the most famous explorers in history and he is best known for discovering “Troy”, an ancient city that helped him get rich and gain international recognition.

Schliemann rose to fame with his discovery of gold on the shores of Asia Minor, which ultimately led him to pursue archaeological excavations all around Southwest Asia, Europe, and North America.

During his travels, he discovered Troy and other ancient artifacts that were the greatest representations of the ancient world.

For most of his life, Schliemann was a wealthy man and he had the time and energy to pursue different interests such as gold prospecting, publishing textbooks on an archaeological excavation, and eventually becoming a famous adventurer.

After conducting research into the myths surrounding the Trojan War, Schliemann began to believe that it actually occurred on a specific spot on Asia
