The story of Ferrari, as many stories of products that people love; starts with science fiction.

Enzo Ferrari was an Italian racing driver who built his first prototype race car in 1948 with help from Fiat (at the time).

The prototype was ready in 1949 but was not successful.

It raced twice and soon Enzo went back to work designing and improving cars for Fiat.

After five years, his racing car design and engineering skills got better and he decided to go racing again.

Because the world around him was changing rapidly — post-WWII Europe was growing — he decided to start a company of his own that would build race cars. Enzo Ferrari’s first clients were Maserati and Alfa Romeo (the two companies were also owned by Fiat).

By 1952 Ferrari’s clients soon included Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.

Ferrari became the leader of the competition in the Intercontinental GT Championship
