Calm down, its just marketing.

I couldn’t agree more (although Seigler is not the author of these memes). This article is pointless if you know how a language works; if you don’t, it doesn’t provide a better understanding. The word “courage”, like any word, can be used in a variety of contexts with a single definition. Malcolm X, Ghandi, Anne Frank and Rosa Parks had courage, obviously. Does the gravity of their circumstances mean no one can ever have courage unless the stakes are comparable? Of course not. A word can be used wherever its meaning is relevant. Only a fool (e.g. a dogmatic brand fanatic) would fail to distinguish between Apple’s common use and these figures (frankly, the memes belittle the significance of these figures by using them to make a semantic jab at a company). Apple’s removal of the headphone jack is not a surprise, nor is the pointless outrage from the Web. I disagree with Seigler that Apple left themselves open to this criticism; there is no placating certain audiences.
