Days away from my 60th birthday and headed into a very interesting weekend and then the day itself (Tuesday to be exact). Adding to the busyness of the next couple of days (guitar lesson this afternoon, shopping and service tonight at a men’s shelter, monthly spiritual formation group tomorrow morning, birthday party tomorrow night, church/work on Sunday morning) is the idea that the dry, sunny weather is gone for at least a little bit and we’re looking at a real Northern California weather pattern. Or as the rest of the country know it, ‘rain’. Myohmy…
Given the fact that we’ve been in drought conditions for many months now it is sacrosanct to talk about the rain negatively. We all sagely nod through the drips saying, “well, we really need the rain”. All true of course but it doesn’t make the driving/walking/busing any better. Yes it is good for us, yes it is a pain to deal with. So my mood as I type this is subdued but as anyone who know’s me know’s, subdued is only a temporary state. And temporary is just fine for a first blog on Medium!
