Longenesis Expands Blockchain-Based Medical Consent Platform in South Korea
Bitfury-Backed Project Partners With Hanshin Medipia Medical Center And Infinity Care
Seoul, July 1, 2019
Today Longenesis announced it is expanding its blockchain-based medical consent platform to two major South Korean medical institutions — the Hanshin Medipia Medical Center and Infinity Care. Both centers are regional leaders in preventive medicine, specializing in early stage disease diagnosis and prevention.
Longenesis will integrate its blockchain platform to help both partners with data compliance for both foreign patients (requiring HIPAA and GDPR compliance) and local patients. The platform will also streamline patient onboarding and ongoing care through the use of an extended
blockchain toolkit. The platform is built on Bitfury’s Exonum™ enterprise-grade blockchain framework.
“We believe, through this partnership, that both Hanshin Medipia Medical Center and Infinity Care will be able to improve the quality and efficiency of their services, as well as increase the quality and quantity of data available for R&D and drug development,” said Garri Zmudze, CEO of Longenesis. “Our platform is designed for any medical institution interested in building a more
transparent and trusting relationship with their patients while also helping more medical data become available for crucial research.”
The toolkit built by Longenesis is comprised of a consent management tool, an easy-to-use B2C interface, a quality assessment module and patient dashboard.
- The consent management tool makes it easy to track and manage user consent for individual studies and medical trials, while also making it easy for users to change or withdraw their consent for these studies at any time.
- The B2C interface provides the organization with a method for faster direct
communication with the patient.
- The quality assessment tool will help Hanshin Medipia and Infinity Care better analyze and assess the treatment quality of their patients in real-time, helping them to evaluate the performance of doctors and safeguard patient care.
- Finally, the dashboard enables pharmaceutical companies and research organizations to search among anonymized metadata for the specific datasets they require for their research and clinical trials, and then effortlessly onboard the targeted patients.
