People are poor because of bad decisions…they go hand-in-hand.

Heck, even rich people can instantly become poor when they make bad decisions.

I have a tenant who is on government assistance. She came into a good amount of money recently (disability settlement)…and instead of using the money to reduce her poverty, she wasted it on a large quantity of non-prescription “medications” (to use the term losely). She ended up losing her children (temporarily I hope), and her husband went deeper into his intoxication (and still hasn’t come out). They are now separated.

Poverty rarely gets solved by money…I’ve seen this time and time again. If someone wants out of poverty and they live in a land of opportunity, it’s a matter of willpower and willpower alone.
