This is a very underhanded and corporate move by Google. I really empathize with this. We all know investing in any startup device or service comes with a risk. But intentionally bricking hardware is a tough go. At least offer some replacement to upgrade or replace to continue the same or similar service would be justifiable as “we give a shit but can’t afford to support this”.
