A glimpse of heaven

There is a plethora of unseen beautiful locations in our country. A lifetime simply isn’t enough to capture all these. Sikkim is easily one such destination that is less spoken about. I fell in love with the place the first time I visited. Humble people, super-cute kids, clean roads, stunning landscapes and the list of things that the state can boast about goes endless.

It took us two whole days to reach Gangtok and return to Bagdogra Airport. In the three days in between, we did some local sightseeing at Gangtok, had a breathtaking landscape view from near Zero Point where we played with snow and danced at the Yumthang valley.

Scroll down to see the collection of some astonishing landscapes.

More than the beauty of the ever changing colors of the landscapes, what attracted me more was the simplicity of the people of Sikkim. Below is a collection of some unforgettable faces from the state.

I have few words to talk, for pictures speak more than a thousand words! However, I can’t not mention our army men at Sikkim. Plain white snow everywhere doesn’t enthuse anyone for a long period of time. Adding to the agony is the severely cold weather. But the jawaans endure all these, surviving in a sensitive border zone. They never know when they would see their family next. Yet, they endure.
