Our lives matter
I have been intrigued by the black lives matter movement ever since the first time I heard of it. I knew it was about uplifting black people through various struggles they face in america. I see the hastag blacklivesmatter everyday on social media and i see it as a very powerful and important movement. I’m not an american and I’ve never been to the USA, but when i heard about the Dallas shooting whereby 5 policemen were shot dead, i was intrigued to find out more about the black lives matter movement. There is a lot of support for this movement, which is a good thing. There are a lot of tragic stories of police brutality, of the struggles that one has to go through for simply being black. I was shocked to watch a commentator say that it is very dangerous to be a black person in america today.
I live in a country whereby violence does happen but it is a relatively peaceful country. Lately we have had a large number of killings of people with albinism. Its terrible to think that it is dangerous to be an albino living in this country. All these killings are happening because some people think they will make muti over the body parts of albino’s to get rich. Its sad people are killing each other and not valuing the worth of another human being’s life.
I’m all for the movement that advocates protection for people with albinism. I’ve seen a lot of people come forward and support this movement. The killers are out there and we should use whatever stage we can to advocate for these killings to stop which is exactly what my brother did by using his reggae music concert to say to these narrow minded, cold heartless individuals to stop killing albinos, stop killing our brothers and sisters.
I’m all for the movement that advocates for fair treatment and the stoppage of police brutality and killing of black men and women in america, because black lives do matter.
The lives of each person placed on this earth do matter and so I pray for world peace and more love for one another.
