‘FoodIEFest’ Coming to SBVC on April 27
Are you interested in taking a culinary trip around the world? If so, you won’t need to travel far from home this April.
On April 27, San Bernardino Valley College will host the college’s first-ever FoodIEFest, a campus-wide celebration of international cultures that will bring cuisines from across Southern California and the world to campus for an all-day food festival.
Starting at noon, visitors will have a chance to sample foods from six of the world’s seven continents, including Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Americas, many of them fused to create new and exciting culinary experiences. Some of the items currently lined up are bahn mi street tacos, pork belly bites with sushi in phyllo dough, shrimp cucumber tapas, and fruit tarts.
Along with the free tastings, there will be food trucks and local vendors offering an assortment of hot and cold international foods for purchase. For visitors interested in having a complete lunch or dinner on campus, the college’s award-winning culinary arts program will be serving a sit-down, five-course lunch or dinner outdoors in a park-like setting, with an excellent view of the historic Auditorium and surrounding mountains.
The day will be filled with live music, performances, games, and a wealth of free college and career resources. Entry is open to the public and free of charge, with plenty of activities for all ages.
