SBVC Graduates 162nd Nursing Class

A festive atmosphere permeated the campus tonight as San Bernardino Valley College graduated its 162nd nursing class.

Nursing graduates assemble onstage in SBVC’s historic Auditorium.

Founded in 1935, San Bernardino Valley College’s nursing program is one if its most established and renowned programs, having produced generations of medical professionals for Southern California and the medical profession nationwide.

“Our nursing alumni are some of the most hard-working and compassionate people I know,” said Susan Bangasser, the dean of science at the college. “They follow in the steps of generations of SBVC nurses who have gone before them.”

Tamara Maurizi, the nursing program’s assistant director, encouraged students to pursue their master’s degrees so they could come back to SBVC as instructors. “We love to see Valley College alumni come back to teach here,” Maurizi said.

The auditorium was packed with friends and family members of graduates.
