What a SHAME on this poor service

I’m a private patient and needed an infected tooth removed. I asked for sedation or painkillers from both my dentist and the receptionist and both told me that this was not an option. I asked around and it seems it is an option, but I need a referral to the hospital. I asked for a referral and I was refused. I don’t understand why.

I was also told that a dental implant is my only option to replace the missing tooth, which I can’t afford. When I told the dentist I couldn’t afford it, they shrugged.

I feel the standard of care is fine, but a more patient centred approach would be appreciated, especially considering its my body that they’re playing with. I’ll be looking at changing dentists when possible as though the work is of a good standard, their attitude leaves me uncomfortable. It’s a shame that such highly skilled dentists are let down by lack of patient diplomacy.

I rather get shot then ever have my teeth fixed at Smiley Dental. Nobody speaks English and they don’t even say Hi when you go see the dentists. I will NEVER go there again I rather have a homeless person work on my teeth.
