Hi. How are you? It’s me, Jennifer Stavros. I realize that we don’t know each other that well and I take partial blame for that. (Read: all of it)
For whatever reason I seem to forget about you more than I should and I’m not quite sure why. Perhaps it’s that in order to not forget you I have to keep the tab open to remind myself that you’re still there. I don’t know why this seems to be only aimed towards just you but have some comfort knowing that I’ve also been neglecting my Instagram account as well lately too even after entering new baby-land. It’s terrible. I mean… how is my Klout score not dropping me like an anvil off a building already? If I neglected Twitter and Facebook the same way would I even really exist?
What’s odd is that I honestly love you quite a bit. When we first met I raved about how gorgeous of an interface you are compared to other sites “like you.” There’s so many more facets of potential. SEO, hangouts/collaboration, creative sharing endeavors, etcetera. And I use many of them. I consume some of them. And engagements and conversations here seem to be far more substantial than my exchanges on other networks.*
So why do I neglect you oh brilliant child of the internet?
Maybe it’s some embedded attachment issues. They say you never forget your first after all. Perhaps that’s why I can’t seem to get off Twitter. Truth be told, I could probably easily brainstorm up a bunch of bullshit excuses as to the why. After all, I do work in marketing.
I just want to know that I love you Plus. I really and truly do. In 2014 know that you are among my New Years resolutions. 2013 was about getting back to realizing my worth and potential. 2014 is another step in maximizing it. And I want to maximize all of your value in 2014 Plus. And the value of all of you Plusers.
If you are interested in collaborating, discussing creative endeavors, exchanging stories and/or ideas, I want to talk to you. I want to talk to you all over these platforms and not just the ones that have been comfortable.
Here’s to you Google+. 2014: this is going to be our year.
Love (but perhaps not exactly always),
Jennifer Stavros
