You’ve said in a number of your responses here that her difficulties at work were insignificant; how do you come by that? While she doesn’t say so explicitly, I’d be willing to bet that it did impact how much she earned there. The additional scrutiny and criticism she received would have both slowed down her throughput and lowered her reviews, which would likely have made any raises she got lower, or if they were paid by piece work, would have directly impacted her pay.
You could argue that’s just a part of working while female…but is it right? Shouldn’t we try to address it, even if that’s just by being more aware of it in our own lives?
