Social media doesn’t kill people, the way people use social media kills people.
This cartoon was born out of years of frustration spent dealing with people who have taken the old adage that the customer is always right and assume it’s the word of God.
I’m here to tell you, the customer is Not always right. I am not just in customer service I am a customer too, so don’t get all bent out of shape. I’ve been on the receiving end of bad customer service too.
I get it.
But for those of you who fill out the survey and use it against the company, shove that survey up your ass. Stop complaining and take your business elsewhere if you’re not happy. It’s a really simple thing to do.
Stop holding the businesses who have not met your expectations accountable for your unhappiness. You hire them to perform a service, if they screw up, do what millions before social media and customer satisfaction surveys existed did, go somewhere else.
Just because the company asks you to tell the how they did doesn’t mean those of us in the trenches want to know. And in case you didn’t know, our salaries and our livelihoods are directly affected by your stupid answers on the survey that you also didn’t know is fixed.
Questions are weighted.
That’s the truth.
NEWSFLASH: I’ve lost jobs because of vindictive customers who destroyed the survey because they wanted to complain.
The survey is bullshit. Don’t fill it out. Please, for all of us just trying to make a living. Just take your business elsewhere.
Unfortunately you might think the company cares and gives a crap about your opinion but they don’t. They just want to make sure you keep spending your money with them.
I am also sick of them giving you more than you deserve when you complain, because you know you will get shit for free if you threaten them with a bad review, facebook post, tweet, blog, yelp or whatever filthy social media platform you choose to use.
They gave you that power. That is the main problem.
I implore you to go find another company to do whatever job it is you are complaining about. We know you can spend your money somewhere else, if you are not happy with us, please go do that.
I speak for every service professional out there who does their job to the best of their ability and still has to suffer at the hands of a customer with a stick up his or her ass because something didn’t go exactly right. Nothing in life goes exactly right. Stop expecting so much.
And if you are having a bad day, don’t take it out on us.
Stop wasting time online shitting on us to make us/them (our employer) bend over backwards to keep your business. If you are going to manipulate us then go fuck yourself.
