From Farm to Table “من المزرعة إلى المستهلك”
The Gulf Cooperation Council announced their new “Farm to Table” campaign in the Middle East in an effort to reduce dependence on foreign products and imports by Arab consumers. These policies will affect citizens in the member states of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain, and will likely translate into policy in other countries as well. Among the list of products set for “committee review” are energy drinks and supplement products, which have seen an increased trend of use in the Middle East. Citing concerns for health and welfare of citizens, the GCC Health Panel has decided to initiate studies into the nutritonal value of Energy Drinks and Supplements in an effort to bring about the idea of Farm to Table in the Middle East.
