It sounds like there are actually a lot of parallels that can be drawn between trauma and addiction. Thinking about it, it bet sometimes the first leads to the latter, but even in isolation, these words speaks directly to me and the addiction I am fighting/the life I am repairing.

And I know, once the initial battle is won, there will be a lifelong period of maintenance.
