Asynchronous Development In Gifted Students

According to the National Association for Gifted Children, “giftedness is asynchronous development in which advanced cognitive abilities and heightened intensity combine to create inner experiences and awareness that are qualitatively different from the norm.” In the nation today, six to ten percent of K-12 students are classified as academically gifted.
