Thanks for sharing. I think your letter is just the beginning of what you’ll need to tell youth about alcohol, but it’s starting to realize these trends yourself, and expressing them aloud, that makes that reflection and recitation possible. When I left for college, my mom told me to not become an alcoholic. While not elegant or particularly insightful, it showed she knew I had to find my own path, and discover its value and divisiveness accordingly. Knowing the unacceptable societal threshold (in Wisconsin), helped me find a balance with booze.
