Who is Unicron? A History of the Transformer’s ultimate nemesis

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is almost upon us, and yet again the planet devouring Unicron has a key role to play. In terms of the Transformer’s live-action movies, Unicron first made its appearance in The Last Knight (2017), the fifth installment of the movies. That was a rather chaotic affair, showing Unicron as the core of the Earth, trying to break out from Earth’s skin. This time around, if the trailer is to be believed, Unicron will make a full appearance in both its ‘planet’ and ‘robot’ modes.

But who, exactly is Unicron?

Unicron, sometimes also called the Lord of Chaos, the Chaos Bringer, or Planet Eater, has had many iterations in Transformers stories ranging from cartoons to comics, to live-action movies. In terms of toys, though, he is rather underwhelming.
