Zoom in!

If you struggle to read small text, iOS 10 has a new feature to help you out.

It’s called ‘Magnifier’ and it uses your iPhone’s camera to act as a magnifying glass and makes really small text legible. You can even zoom in using the slider to make the text even BIGGER!

You might be thinking “Why wouldn’t I just use my camera?” This magnifier feature focuses on items closer than the built-in camera app, that’s why!

Magnifier settings

To turn on this new feature, head to your Settings app, then tap
General > Accessibility > Magnifier. Then turn on the switch for ‘Magnifier’ (and, optionally, Auto-Brightness).

Now you can access the magnifer by triple-clicking the home button.

Triple-clicking the home button brings up the magnifier.

The lock button locks the focus, and tapping the gray circle button captures the image.

The three circles on the far right bring up a panel to adjust the brightness and contrast and also lets you apply color filters (grayscale, blue/yellow, red, etc).

The button on the far left of the filter panel inverts the filter.

This feature is available on all iPhones that can run iOS 10 (which will be available on September 13th). Your eyes will thank you.
