[This is a continuation of my March 2017 trip to Scotland — see overview here.]

Old Pulteney Duncansby Head is one of my favorite single malts, so I was looking forward to the visit to Pulteney Distillery. Kathy was our hostess and the tour showed the two contrasting sides of modern-day distilleries — the need to embrace automation with the passion to preserve tradition.

Entered with Sky-high expectations, and saw barrels stacked to match those expectations!

Then came the tasting!

12, 17 and 21 years old. Needed bigger pours!
Grabbed a Cask Strength 2005 that was Distillery Exclusive. Also tried 35 years old, as well as Dunnet Head (not shown).
Scotch Aficionado was here!

Thanks for hosting Scotch Aficionado, Kathy & Old Pulteney!
