The Fast Food Giant

This is for those who love a good and unhealthy fast food meal. I have gone to Wendy’s my entire life and the novelty of the franchise is still as if I have never been there. Every time I walk into a Wendy’s I feel a surge of happiness knowing what I am going get and knowing I’m going to like it. Every Wendy’s is great but my favorite has to be the one off West ave in Jackson. That building is the perfect place for basically anything you could want and get at a fast food place. They serve many things like salads, chicken, and even coffee in the morning but they only specialize is one thing, burgers. Other places like McDonald's, Burger King and Arby’s try to pass off their food and service as better than anything else, in my opinion they don’t have the best food nor service. Here’s why I think that, Wendy’s is generally cheaper in cost than most of their competition, they have just better food quality overall, and their service and environment is more welcoming and comfortable.

Cost is a big factor when someone is buying food. Anybody is going to go with the cheaper meal with larger portions. In comparison to Burger King and McDonalds, Wendy’s first item on the menu, The Dave’s Hot and juicy, is about fifty cents to a dollar cheaper than most other McDonalds or Burger King burgers. I went to the Wendy’s in Jackson one day and then I looked at the number one item on the menu and I then walked down to the McDonalds that was right next to the Wendy’s and looked at the price of their number one menu item and this supports my claim that Wendy’s is overall cheaper. If you think about it I could be a person is a struggling financial situation, I will always go for the better deal so I can save more money and be able to use it on more important things like bills or payments.

Imagine this, you are on your lunch break from work and you are starving. So you go to your nearest fast food joint that isn’t a Wendy’s. You order your favorite burger with a side of fries. It comes out, you take it to your table or destination and then tear it up. You take your first bite and it’s dry, cold, and tastes like crap. Will you ever go back there again? Food quality is a huge factor in

someone’s motivation to eat fast food. If it doesn’t look appealing then nobody will want to eat it. If it looks appetizing and yummy then more people will want to buy it and eat it. There have been times when I’ve gone to McDonald’s and ordered a burger and not only is it generally dry and tasteless, it looks like a large animal sat on it and squished it flat. When I order a burger, has to have bacon, I expect to see a nice and tall sandwich with everything I have ordered on it and cooked to perfection.

Just like how the food has to be good the environment also has to be welcoming and comfortable. The common environment at the Wendy’s on west Ave in Jackson is always welcoming, I always walk in and know where to stand in line, the service is always kind and I just genuinely enjoy being there. Even when it is very busy you never have a problem with being crowded or uncomfortable. A big thing I love about this Wendy’s and I have loved ever since I was a kid was the indoor jungle gym. It’s called the kids area but it was fun as hell to play on when I was a kid. I would eat my ten piece nuggets and then go on an adventure into the play set and lose my tiny kid mind. I would make friends with anybody I met and we’d go crazy. I’m too old for the indoor jungle gym now (I’d get stuck in the slide) but it was fun while it lasted.

Wendy’s is great but they aren’t perfect. They don’t have the largest menu in the world, but I don’t see that as a problem. One thing that can turn off a customer from your business is indecision. If a customer is paralyzed by indecision they may be less satisfied because if you go to a fast food restaurant you want it to be fast. I have never been paralyzed by indecision at Wendy’s because they have a very simple menu. If you want a simple burger with all the toppings or (my personal favorite) a meat and cheese burger, or even a chicken sandwich, you have a simple choice. The hardest decision for me when i’m at Wendy’s is whether I want a medium drink or a large drink.

Wendy’s as a restaurant is not the best because it is too crowded, the food portions aren’t big enough, and above all else their job is to feed us on a quick stop not make us a dinner. As a whole, this restaurant fulfills it’s purpose as a quick and cheap lunch that will satisfy anyone till dinner very well. You walk in, you order your food, you eat, you leave, Its that simple.
