I feel your anxiety as well. However, I don’t see the distinction that you make between searching for an answer on Google and searching for an answer on Reddit, other than the observed fact that Google didn’t allow you to succeed and Reddit did. That simply points to the limitations of today’s algorithmic search. In both cases the answer would have come from other people; in Google’s case someone’s written content and in Reddit’s case an online conversation. But both have people at the other end of the answers you sought.
